Colombre  was founded in 2005 by a group of independent authors and communication experts. It specialises in making documentaries with a historical and/or social content and in distribution over the internet.

The company focuses on producing and promoting creative documentary films on its own behalf, or through work contracts. It is mainly interested in the stories and history of people, especially those that have a strong ethical, cultural, or didactic message. To reinforce these goals, Colombrefilm often experiments with the narrative genre, creating portraits, and reworking the conversational elements of production that have been introduced since early 2006.                                                                                               

The Colombre is a sea monster that constantly appears - a misterious obsession - along the life of whom can see it. Borned from the creative inspiration of the bellunese author Dino Buzzati, it first revealed itself in a well-known 1966 short story as well as in a series of paintings by Buzzati.
